
Joshua Tebeau is the Writer, Director and Producer of Picking Up the Pieces.
Picking Up the Pieces is the first short documentary film telling the story of the recovery of Jewish Child Holocaust Survivors.
Josh graduated from Deerfield Academy in Western Massachusetts in 2016. He spent his high school years making this film, his first documentary. The film was fully funded through donations and made with generous support and mentoring from a filmmakers and historians in Poland.
Joshua's interests include History, Film, and Poetry. He is the Head of the Deerfield Academy Chapter of Amnesty International and was a Bronfman Youth Fellow (2015). Joshua has won a number of debate and public speaking awards both at the American School of Warsaw and at Deerfield Academy. In Spring 2015, he gave a TEDx presentation entitled, "In Search of Lost Time" incorporating reflections from interviewing Holocaust survivors with the effect of modern cinematic structures on our experience of time.
Josh was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. He has been a volunteer in the Educational Department of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. He is bilingual in Polish and English, also understanding Spanish and Yiddish.
Joshua will enter Princeton University in Fall 2017. For 2016-2017, he is working in Senegal in community service supporting local efforts at culture preservation and economic development. His next film project will be connected to his experiences in Africa.
